What size engine are you talking about? I have a 2003 V6 2.7L engine and have had it up to 127 MPH and still going. If you learn to use the shifter properly, it could be hard for lots of bigger engines to out run the Tiburon. I drive it hard and fast and at 47,000 miles it still doesn't use oil. The gages are correct.. if my gas gage say 1/2 full I'll put in seven gals. gas into a 14 gal. tank. it's the best built car I have out of four and most probably I'll purchase another Hyundai Tiburon. you may be able to get 24 MPG at 80 MPH, 29/30 MPG at 50/55 MPH.

Don't let people hate on it, because it is a Hyundai, if you look in magazines, Hyundai is on the rise, there SUVs are beating out BMWs and there sedans are beating out Lexus', so they are quality and construction are top notch.
As far as the Tiburon is worried, it's a GREAT car for the price, not a lot of performance from the V6 but there are a good bit of aftermarket parts for it to help with that. They could most likely muster about 155 or so. Not sure if they're electronically restricted or not tho, so maybe lowwer than that. they're great cars if you are into the 'Tuner' scene, and wanna start out with a good car that will not cost you an arm an d a leg.

They look good, and are good performers with the V6/6 speed stick, but for the same money you may be able to get a Scion tC. Maybe not as good looking, but it'll be more dependable, hold it is value better, and last longer. And better on gas too.

I owned my 2003 gt V6 for two years. I love it. It handels great and I have add some aftermarket parts to the car in the course of two years. Still going at it also. I love the speed the look and beleave it or not they're comfy in long distance drives. I have gotten mine up to 152mph on the HWY. I show mine and race it. they're easy to work on also if you're into that kinda thing.
Ok for the 2007 Tiburon. I could never drive one. Reasons, number 1. I do not like the way they look
2 they took the gills away that's what made the Tiburon
3. The back of the car not the same and it's realy hard to find the exhaust to go with the info that are on it now.
4 front of the car does not look areodinamic like the 2003 anymore.
That is just some of the issues I have with it. Other then that they're about the same. I know in the V6 the hp went down a bit.
I could wait for the 08 to come out. I do not like the way they look eather but they're going to be RWD and I'm going to get one take the body off and put the 2003 body on the frame.
Tiburon I could get an 03 04 and go from there.
I hope this helps. If any questions you may be able to email me at strykertracking@.com

I bought a regatta blue 07 v4 back in May. I did lots of research and decided to go with this caused by the look, $, and warranty. Pros I love the body and the interior is really cool and compact. The sound system is pretty good and it is fun to drive and looks pretty.
Cons a common problem with the 07 models is a rattling sound when you turn on the air. At 1st they told me it was some gauge that was loose but that was bs. Now they are telling me it needs a part to fix it that hasnt been "created" still. there is most likely a class action pending. The service dept. in my city have really let me down and could care less about my complaint. as well, somene tried to steal my car after I had it for a month. This clearly isn't Hyundai's fault but I have been told that it "stands out" and is a "target". I guess that is the risk you run with a nice looking, sporty car.
Let me know if you have any questions and I'd be happy to answer them.
