1990 300zx horsepower?

Postby XXX » Tue Nov 03, 2009 1:31 am

okay 1st of all I have a 1990 300zx NA auto

the engine itself is good and runs good. it has minor engine problems like the timing belt is overdue and ect.

the car has 170,000 miles.

i have these brand new stillen headers

a JimWolf ECU

and im planning on put a z1 high flow intake and afterward on to get the dual intake.

i already have a HKS cold air intake installed so im still debating

if I fix every single engine problem and make it run good how much horse power could my z have?

a stock 300zx NA has 222hp.

i know the older a car gets it looses hp, but since im tunning up the engine to run like it nearly did before.

how much hp will it have estimated with all these parts fixed and installed.

We were to get nearly 300 at the wheels of a car like your it too had 165,000 miles. As a shop project and a good lesson for a beginning technician we installed a JDM front clip complete with transmission. That engine with bigger ball bearing turbos cranked out 465 hp rear wheel . and lasted nearly four months. Now with a ton of mods better engine block heads exhaust manifolds different turbo controls it was the second most powerful Z32 at the Z car conference on the dynometer nearly 500 rear wheel hp. if real power you need pull out the worn out motor and start over. 1990 made early had soft intake valve issues and really won't like making more power
