1998 jeep cherokee sport lift?

Postby Gavin K. » Tue Nov 03, 2009 1:03 am

i have a 98 cherokee sport 4.0 v6 that I'd like to put a three to four inch lift on, I can not choose what to get although, I have looked at OME and they seem pretty cheap while being complete as far as as well as shocks etc, but I really dont have specialty in this sortve thing so any help could be appreciated. im also planning on running bigger tires if you could help with those to. id like to have something that wont wear down to fast on the road, but has some beef. thanks

Best thing to do when it',s your 1st lift kit is to go with no more than of lift. This will let you to fit some 31" allterrain tires that will last you a long time and give you good road manners, also as good traction off road. Don',t get violent lug off road tires unless you offroad all the time, you'll regret it. Lifting above will clear bigger tires, yes, but the cost of mods obliged also to the lift kit will increase tenfold drive line angles, drivetrain stress, steering stability, improper gearing, etc etc etc .

OME, Zone, and Rusty',s are great basic lifts and are the ones I could start with I',m to get the Zone lift next summer . also, you may be able to save up some extra cash and go for a complete RE rubicon express kit. it'll take some slight mods to deal with driveline angles but their superflex kit is top of the line.
