the display window keeps showing the coolant temperture when car is warm the highest was 117 is this normal for this car

that is really low. Sounds like your sensor is messed up. You could also possibly have a bad thermostat which is not closing, and the car is never coming up to temperature, although I think it could still get hotter than 117.

the normal warm coolant temperture for a car is 190 degrees F. to 210
