2000 Chrysler Concorde problems!?

Postby shteff » Tue Nov 03, 2009 2:17 am

i have a 2000 Chrysler Concorde and it has some problems. It is really hard to start, but when it does start it'll idle up really high then die down but it keeps doing this, and when I drive it it'll drive good for a minute then it'll jump around like i',m playing with the gas,but when I',m at a stop or turn it'll die, then will barely start.EGR valve?I',m out of ideas.

A common problem and easy fix may be the throttle body is dirty. With the car off, look into the throttle body open the blade . It shouldn't, but I bet will. have a sludge look to it. The TB must be removed and cleaned with a rag and can of carb cleaner. be sure to replace the base gasket when you do. Cost: about five bucks. Add about $20 and get a Chiltons service manual at you local parts house.

my guess.is that your car has the 2.7L V6 engine. chrysler used this engine in your concorde, the sebring, the LHS, 300M, and the dodge intrepid and dodge stratus, chrysler sebring

in any way chryslers cars made between 1998 and 2002 have a well recognized sludge build up problem with this engine badly intended, cars that were maintainted with full synthetic oils worked on this problem

chrysler blamed the holders for not maintaining the cars, when most in fact did. the sludge build up becomes so bad that the only way to fiz the issue was to tear the engine down and clean it, or just replace it with a new crummy 2.7 V6.

chrysler looks to fixed the problem now starting from 2002 on base chrysler 300s have 2.7s and are dependable. but this is my guess, look at the engine and check for this notorious sludge

this is only my hypothesis because this problem is so common. if it's the case, you may be able to conctact chrysler about itand see what they can do for you if anything

you may also purchase a new motor and have the old one replaced

or you may be able to purchase a brand new chrysler 300 or something like that. I have a soft spot for chyrsler cars but these 2.7 motors suck or if you love concordes that much purchase a newer one 2003 or 2004 to avoid motor issues
