96 Buick Regal GS Randomly dies while driving?

Postby Marcello » Tue Nov 03, 2009 2:10 am

So my 96 buick regal gran sport has randomly started dying while im driving. It used to die whenever I has been stopped at a stop light, then just stopped starting and I learned it was the fuel pump and had it replaced. but now its doing it again.and it doesnt it regardless what speed im going..its really quite scary to being driving 45mph and have your car die and you can not turn you are steering wheel. so I dont have idea what is causing this

any help could be awesome.

It can be your alternator or your battery is low also causing this. When you're in stop and go the battery takes energy and sends it to your alternator.vise versa if your alternator is bad its not taking enough.Be cautious this may be improved by rain or foul weather.check battery and while they do that they can check the alternator.to check this is cheap under 25 dollars. Both are reasonable to purchase. good luck.

fuel problem or spark problem hard to guess but say it putt puts then dies attempt a bottle of fuel treatment may have dirty fuel

if it shuts off like you turn the key then may be a coil or eletronic part

autozone may scan it and find a problem
