Garmin has long been a leader in vehicle GPS technology. Now they are taking it to the next level with the StreetPilot 2820. All the powerful GPS goodness is here, plus a healthy amount of media storage for preloaded North American street maps all your MP3s, also as Bluetooth wireless technology so you may be able to make hands free calls on a matched phone. You also get XM radio compatibility, a big points of interest POI database, and an audiobook player. Simply put, if you want to get the most out of your time on the road, the 2820 is the answer.
Design
The 2820's front panel is dominated by a big, 3.8 inch automotive grade, color, sunlight readable TFT display that features 454 x 240 pixel resolution. The display is touchscreen enabled, and there is also an included wireless remote control. A fitted photo sensor changes the screen's light for light conditions automatically, so you generally have the best view possible. A USB 2.0 interface makes uploading your MP3s to the 2820 a snap, and you may also send audio to the car stereo through the 3.5 mm stereo headphone/line out plug.
With dimensions of 5.6 x 3.2 x 2.0 inches W x H X D and weight of just .91 pounds, the 2820 is small enough to take anywhere. it is also a great choice for motorcycle users. In the meantime, an integrated dash mounting system gives easy modification and fast release. The unit holds a fitted GPS patch antenna, but an MCX type connector offers an optional external GPS antenna connection.

It also accepts customized points of interest POIs like school zones, safety cameras, and LPG filling stations and will include closeness alerts to warn of forthcoming POIs.
