Boasting a high contrast five inch gray scale LCD screen and a host of priceless features, the Lowrance GlobalMap 4800M GPS+WAAS Receiver and Mapping System helps boaters and drivers take the next step in GPS navigation. Simply pick a destination or map a path via the easy to use keypad, and the GlobalMap automatically establishes the best path and gives you intuitive directions.
As with the best GPS navigators, the device is greatly correct, with precision twelve parallel channel GPS and WAAS mapping that gets you to inside some meters of your destination, if you are on a Great Lakes fishing expedition or a cross country road trip. Each trip is totally customizable, with the capability to map paths, waypoints, trails, and more. You may also easily recalculate your trip should you get distracted and lose your way. And thanks to the MMC/SD card slot which is protected by a waterproof door the device can save and retrace up to 100 of your beloved plot trails, with up to 10,000 points in each path.
Users may also perform more advanced GPS functions on the GlobalMap 4800M, as well as determining the distance between two separate places, creating and editing brand new routes, and navigating trails and paths backwards. To give users a good mapping foundation, Lowrance included a fitted continental U.S. and Hawaii background map that is improved to take benefit of the high resolution display. The in depth map offers such marine features as more than 60,000 nav aids and 10,000 wrecks/obstructions in coastal and Great Lakes regions, with landlocked extras like interstate exit services also to standard big streets and highways. The GlobalMap is matched with Lowrance's optional MapCreate six custom mapping software required to take pleasure in a full set of searchable land features, as well as landmarks, streets, addresses, and points of interest and a host of plug and play choices, like FreedomMaps, Fishing Hot Spots Elite, LakeMaster Pro Maps, NauticPath USA, and Navionics electronic charts.
