we want the time when d = 274.
274 = 44 t+1 + 48 t
274 = 44 t + 44 + 48 t
274 44 = 44 t + 48 t
230 = 92 t
230 / 92 = t
2.5 = t
So, 2.5 hours after the second bus leaves. Since the second bus leaves at two pm, the time when they're 274 miles separately is 4:30 pm.
