I have an 2002 CLS 108k miles, idle is running low, about 1000 to 750 rpm check engine light has just come on, can anybody give me an idea as to what is going on and what to expect in fix costs?

Well it is not running low, it is running just a bit high. It should be between 500 750 rpms. may be the idle control motor, something like that. I agree, I could just go over to Autozone and get them to read the codes from the engine computer. Most probably they'll do this free of charge.

that's a pretty high idle. Auto Zone will read your trouble codes from the check engine lite
