After installing my new stereo I turned on the truck and when I turned the headlights on my dash light when ou
t.and I think it's caused by the wiring but I don't know how to fix it..
as soon as I turned the headlights on the light behind the gauges in my dash went off.. any help??

1st of all you have to take off the unit and reword it all again, but 1st disconnect the negative battery terminal to avoid blown fuses. If the lights went off is because you blew the instrumental lights fuse. Go to this site choose your car and follow the wiring code for the stereo.

well it may be the wiring invoved for the stereo so you should just look over or back track in wat you did on the stereo

Something is wired wrong most probably. You have most likely blown a fuse. Which may or may not be related to the new stero. Find your fuse panel on your car and look for one that has the little wire in it melted and replace it. If it happens again, something is mixed up in the wiring.
