the alpines are excellent particularly the type R id say you could do without pioneers although......how can you call the Alpine Type R junk the JL W7 is way overpriced you could get an Alpine Type X or two Alpine Type Rs cheap from E Bay and do better than that forget about the pioneers tho

All they are just plain average crap except for those Alpine R's. If your looking for some 10"s, check out Infinity Kappa Perfects. I have four of them, and they're unbelievable. they're super fast, hard and never get lost with the beat I listen to lots of rock, got a ridiculously deafening boom and bang, and can play really low frequencies too. They just kick hard and deafening. My whole truck starts shaking without putting them up to full volume.
But if you're going with one of the ones of that list, go with the Alpine R's, but I certainly recommend the Infinitity Kappas.

For what your going to pay for the above, do not expect much. Just a suggestion but a 10/12" Kicker subwoofer you may pay 20 40 bucks more, but well worth it. More of your sound depends on speaker box/amp than on the woofer. call the people at crutchfield.com and they may give you the best system setup, does not mean you must purchase it from them, but at least you'd know what fits, and what sounds good in your car.
