Audi A8 Intake? |
|
I have a D2 1998 Audi A8 Quattro 4.2 and I could like to know where to find a decent cold air intake. One to replace my stock air box and all the ducting to the engine, I have seen them on ebay made of aluminum for the 2.8 V6 A6s but my engine bay may be a different size I do not know but does anybody know where to get a good intake for my car?

I, on the other hand, could NOT recommend a K&N air filter.
First off, K&N air filters are oil gauze filters. When air rushes through the filter it'll carry tiny oil particles with it. The oil will carry and stick on the Mass Air Flow sensor, which over time can damage it.
Secondly, a cold air intake may not be the best way to go. In some cases they don't add any hp at all, or so little you can't tell the difference. In some applications a K&N air filter may really decrease HP. Think of it this way, an oil gauze filter is just what the name implies, a level of gauze soaked in oil. Take a wet wash rag, place it over your mouth and attempt to breathe. It does not work too well.
I could recommend an exhaust upgrade or ECM tune if you want to make some extra ponies, not a cold air intake.
I drive an 2004 Audi S4 by the way B6 .

Try knfilters.com/knfilters.com/">knfilters.com/
They've got the best High Performance Air Intakes available out there. I have K&N Oil Filters and Air Intake Tubes installed on my BMWs and they are great, attempt to find one that best suits your engine and you may be able to seriously get some extra HP with it.

i could recommend a cone type K&N air filter too. but since an A8 is a kinda stylish, saloon type car, I wouldnt recommend it cuz it makes more sound than with a stock air filter. there's a certain breathing pause when you step on the pedal.

Don't waste your time with this. it is simply not proper for your kind of car. All you will get for all the time and money is a deafening sucking sound and about two four HP if you are lucky.
