Which new car could you rather have with your budget? MB are the least reliable, but most likely the most lavish. BMW's are nice, but every1 has one and they cost a crapload to fix. Audi's are certainly the best in snow and mud and rain, but also costly to fix. Which make and model?

"mechanical quality" and "reliability" aren't the same thing. Good dependability means that it gives little to no problems over a extended time period. good mechanical quality means that high quality parts were used, but it doesnt mean they're put together right, which will certainly influence reliablity

AUDI RS6 is My Choice in this CLASS.
i like the BMW next aND Benz last but a Turbo RS6 will OUT preform M3 all day in 1/4 mile and handling BMW just is 2nd rate to the AWD AUDI and gas mileage is unmatched com paired to the HP percentage of AUDI '
BENZ will about out run both with a late start off the line because of BENZ's engineering and HP but it's the heavy weight, so it needs more HP.
ALL cars are made great and the prices are close but if ya want to be &gt,&gt,&gt,Different&lt,&lt,&lt, RS6 is the choice, hell the S4 is competive to a M3. As for a Benz I just asked a simualar Question too I reviewed and test drove all and I say AUDI first BMW 2nd as for Benz zero not there.

PS. If ya looking for all out performance AWD&lt,&lt, purchase an&gt,&gt, EVO MR,, IX,, or SE or the SUBARU WRX STI&lt,&lt,&lt,. these cars will "EAT".. a M3 M5, AUDI RS, and Benz in the solom and 1/4 mile and give thoes HI class cars Change back.
ALSO VW HAS nothing in PERFORMANCE comon with an AUDI IF LAST I CHECKED BMW MAKES ENGINES FOR AUDI and VW HI END CARS.

Audi RS4,
MB CLS,
BMW M5

Out of those 3, it is must be the Audi, Most reliable generated from VW's and with the best and most nimble handling.

I would not own any of the three listed. People purchase one of the three so it seems like they have money, snobs. As transportation there are many better cars that are more dependable and cheaper to purchase and maintain.

Merc. Benze because 1. it is a fun thing to drive 2. it's safe and you may be able to expecto walk away from on other wise lethal wreck 3. If you take care of it oil chances, tune ups. then it'll last a long time. I don't know where you got the idea it is the least reliable.

Plus I have still to meet someone who does not need a crap load of work done on their BMW. Sorry, do not know much about Audi's.

If you want something that is reliable, luxuriouse, hot, fun, and a bunch of other things, look into a SAAB. A 9000 or nine three convertable or nine five are good models.

This is a really broad question. You summarized the benefits/drawbacks across the range in your question, with the misconception that Audis are in some way more dependable than MBs they aren't.

If you're purchasing new "cost to fix" is irrelavent, since all will be protected by warranty BMW is the only one to offer free routine maint. also .

There really is not a way to answer "which brand is better" lots depends on what you need, and best differs by model.

Generally speaking, I could add that Audi has the highest quality interior and the most highly praised style. BMW has the best performance, resale, and ride/handling mix though MB closed the gap largely here . MB has the most luxury and best dealer service.

If you want a compact sports sedan, go BMW. The three series is the benchmark in this class, and was so for over 20 years. It handles much better than the Audi A4 or MB C class. It also is more dependable than either.

If you want mid size sedans, the new MB is the best choice. It really competes well with the BMW and is a much prettier car. Audi could be my second choice caused by its beautiful bauhaus style.

If you want a big sedan, the question gets tough. All three of these cars are great. I think the new S class is the best choice. In cars of this size, supreme handling is trumped by ride quality since these cars are just too heavy to manage well.

If you want a small convertible, I could go three series. Much better car than the CLK and cheaper also.

If you want hgh end convertible, I'd go SL. it's just a more beautiflul car than the six series, and Audi gives you no choice here.

Hope that assists.

EDIT NO I'm not "wrong" about Audi quality in comparison to MB.
JD Power and associates 2007 mechanical quality ratings, fives stars being the best for these manufactures best selling models:

Audi A4 three STARS
Mercedes C class 3.5 STARS

Audi A6 4.5 STARS
Mercedes E class five STARS

Audi A8 five STARS
Mercedes S Class five STARS

If you want to talk SUV . . .
Audi Q7 3.5 STARS
Mercedes M class five STARS

Even the MB SLK has a five star ranking, if you want a comarison to a TT.

Those are five major car models for these businesses, and MB beats or equals the Audi in each.

As to cost fix outside of warranty, they're all costly to fix. Again although, MB has by far the best service centers. They treat you better, have nicer buildings, and are more probably to offer free loaner cars. That does make a difference.

well the costly cost goes along with them being luxury cars, if you can not mantian and don't have a garage for it, you don't need it. nevertheless as indicated by J.D. Power.[2 In J.D. Power's Initial Quality Study for the 1st quarter of 2007, Mercedes showed dramatic improvement by climbing to fourth place, surpassing quality leader Toyota and earning some number of awards for its models. [3 wiki, see what happens when you dump an american company well id pick of these choices

bmw x5, x3, 650ci/// mercedes benz cls550, clk350, c300L, and any e class /// audi tt, a5 a6 allroad

so yeah id go with the mercedes benz although because. well. Mercedes benz, duh, the e class Razz
