Bigger tires for Subaru Forester?

Postby Auspuh » Tue Nov 03, 2009 1:43 am

my subaru forester has 205/70 r15',s

i wondered if I 225/75 r15',s or bigger could fit AND

I know some SUV',s the tires stick out more did they make the axles longer to accommodate the wider tires?

Also do they make winter/snow tires bigger than stock?

You can go to the S series wheels and tires. they're 215/70/16',s. Anything bigger than this will have interference with the inner fender panel on sharp turns.

No the axles are the same. The offshoot of the wheels is what is different. The stock Subaru wheels are negative offshoot which means they're off set into the wheel well. The bigger SUV',s use positive offsets which make them stick out of the wheel wells more.

Lastly you don',t want oversize winter tires because you need the space for tire chains.
