Brake Pads for a 1991 Mercedes 300E?

Postby Lolerfalls » Tue Nov 03, 2009 1:27 am

I',m wanting to purchase ceramic brake pads for my car since they're better than metallic and last longer than organic brake pads.

AutoZone only has metallic pads and Napa is charging about $90 for ceramic brake pads, hopefully that',s for a set and not just one pad.

I won't order pads off line, I need them now.

Suggestions?

I could go to the dealer and get whatever Mercedes uses, and get new wear sensors while you',re there. Aftermarket brake pads have a tendency to squeak and squeal on a Benz, regardless what kind of friction material they use.

Ceramic pads generally wear out faster than O.E. pads. The benefit is less brake dust, but they don',t work also.

Save some brain cells, get the dealer brake pads.
