Buying a speaker system for my car!?

Postby TyH » Tue Nov 03, 2009 2:20 am

Hello, I'm 16 years old and have recently started driving. I'm interested in replacing my speakers in my 1994 Honda accord ex. I',m not wanting to use up loads of money for a kick system to blow people away. I',m looking for a good system that',s not so high in price. I',m new at this so let me know what I need and how much the round about cost could be if possible.

How many watts could my amp have to be to power all new door speakers, and a sub or two in the trunk ?

What are some dependable speakers that are good but not to expensive?

Any good subs that are good and not to expensive?

Thanks lots..

If you put it in you'll save lots of money right there if have the cash than skys the bound break it down on what you want to use up. I could look at wooferetc.com they have lots of good deals and if you find a better price else were they'll mach it as long as you have evidence.

But I could get TWO V max124 Cerwin Vega 12" 1000 Watt Dual 4Ohm Subwoofer 129.99 ea. Or V124 Cerwin Vega 12" 400 Watt Dual 4Ohm Subwoofer $ 85 ea

Some other brands are,

Soundstream or Kicker there are lots of good brands just depends on what you want and the amount of cash you're wanting to blow.

Look at soundsplinter.com if you chose them I could use one sub these things are crazy.

What kind of room do you must work with Cubic feet in the car? This can differ on the brand you want. Each sub has own sealed or ported box also the kind of music you listen to.

Each amp runs at different OHMS and all subs are different OHMS you have dual or single subs 1, 2, four ohm subs.

All of these needs to be taken into account its a science. See if you bye a sub just because its cool or you got a great deal on it you have to be sure you'll find an amp to run it.

Hope this helps.

Keep in touch need help designing the box let me know.

first you don't need a amp for the side door speakers. I could get like two 300 watt subs kickers not the square ones not the greatest. and a 300watt amp Rockford Fosgate, its a pretty good amp, had one it'll give a nice thump, not a real deafening one although. so you are lookin at like 300$ for amp then the subs is wat you want, then you need the cords and those cost around 80$. and a box. the door speakers cost a lot if you want good ones.
