Can anybody one help in to get the anti theft code for my 2000 Mitsubishi Mirage car stereo?
I had changed the battery on the car, but I had misplaced the code a while back. As you and I most likely know that changing your battery does not happen that frequently. So in the time between the 1st battery change I misplaced the code to reactivate the stereo. I called the dealer and they're charging way too much to give me the code. We holders of this kind of car have to change the battery every now, then as they do not last forever. To me it's just poor service from the dealer, they want me to pull the player out and give them the serial number. that is just plain ridiculous, then charge me.. anybody help. email me with the code.. I could call mitsubishi directly, they're usually quite useful. I do agree you shouldnt be punished for the loss of a part of paper but is it not written in the holders manual somewhere?

Call the dealership and have your vin# number prepared for service

you do not need your Vin but you do have to pull the radio and get the serial # off the top of it then go to the dealer with evidence of ownership and the serial# and they'll get you the code most won't do this over the phone

Hey I had the same problem with mine and like the other man said you have to pull out your radio and get the serial number and have evidence you own the car. No real dealership should charge you b/c you did not purchase it new right? I went to a mitsubishi dealership and they did not charge me a thing. Call around b/c they should not charge you for the number.
