Well, it depends what fault is causing the light to come on.If the because is emission related, eg. too rich a mixture, you could loose the catalyst in no time.But the fact that the CEL is on means definately something isn't correct. My audi dealership charges $110 for a diagnostic, but, so shop for prices at local garages if that is an choice.
