DaimlerChrysler declared that they'll start selling Smarts in the US. they're working now to get the dealership infrastructure set up to sell the cars. They should 1st be available sometime in 2008

Hello,
it is not really a Mercedes. A Smart car is a division of Damlier Benz as is Chrysler . It will not be here for some years, and will be around 20K.

The Smart car is a sardine can. If it has seatbelts you may be able to use it as a backpack. I seen it close up while in europe. Lets see, its half the size of most US cars, any car . With suv and the 18 wheelers on the road, I can not see anybody feeling safe in that little thing. And the price is too high.
But they just said they're starting to sell them in the states.
