Can I put regular unleaded gas into a 2008 Lexus IS 250 that

i agree with the ppl before. Use premium only. there's a reason for them to put that on you are dash. Regular unleaded, 87 octane, is quicker to combust. so the burning point of the 87 octane is lower. On the other hand the 91 premium octane takes a bit long to combust so it can be compressed more than the 87. So using 87 octane in you are car could because detonation and could because damage to your engine. Possibly could blow your motor. So I could stick with the higher octane.

You can. but you'll have more engine problems and engine gunk. Your car wont last as long if you put lower quality gas in it if it needs higher quality. If I were you I could use up the extra money and get the higher quality gas. it'll be cheaper to do that than having to get your car repaired because of poor engine maintenance

No. use the gasoline that has at least an octane ranking of 89 or higher. If you used the regular unleaded your engine won't run quite as good. It',s ok to use it every once in a while, but don',t use it all the time.

I think I read that it runs 12:1 compression and you',ll need higher octane fuel to keep the engine performing properly. If you reduce the octane you risk detonation which is bad for the engine.

Stick to high octane, yep.
