Can I turn off the Day Running Lights on my 2007 Honda Accord?
I just bought my car the other day and I can not stand my day running lights already. I asked my salesman if I can turn them off, he said no, but that's certainly a lie. Does anybody know how? Or should I bring the car to the service guys?

It's a law in other countries, but not the US. And I do not want them because there really is not a need for them. it is sunny throughout the day when they are on, they are pointless. My family just bought three new cars and mine is the only one with DRL. So I was just inquisitive.

On my civic 2007 it's fuse #37. I just removed it and DRL are off now. This way it keep the lights life longer and also make more sense not them have it on in the bright sunny days look stupid.
For agreements look in the manual where electric schema is and find the fuse for DRL and remove it that is all.

Runing lights are obliged legally in most regions so no, you can not turn them off or if you do you may end up paying for it . Running lights serve to increase visibility so decrease accidents. As such they may help to decrease your insurance rates and keep you safe. You didn't say why you don't want them so maybe you may be able to post addtiional info to clarify this.

That's like asking "How can I turn off my anti lock brakes" or "I hate that third brake light" or "My airbag is ugly, how can I get rid of it."

Even on a bright sunny day DRLs help differentiate your car from the cars in front and behind you at a distance. Just look a mile or two down the road on a clear day, guess which cars are noticeable? The ones with DRLs. as well, they help people see your car with their peripheral vision. Considering that people are talking on their cell phones, eating, drinking, listening to thumping music and watching movies in their cars, do not you want your car to be MORE observable to others, rather than less?

Just my opinion.
