Cayman (without S) |
|
Now Porsche brings the Cayman even for smaller budgets. The car costs 48,000, with appropriate equipment (leather, Navi, sound system etc.) approx. 55k to 59k.
If one compares the car then with e.g. a Z 4 Coupé with 3,0 l engine or the new 3er Coupé (330 or 335), then both cars with mindestends equal many horses 1 are cheaper and (at least the 335) also faster.
The question is thus: If the Cayman is worthwhile itself or if one goes directly and buys that, equipment, approx. 10,000 euro more expensive Cayman S, and has then a correct Knaller.

Well then one can wait that for the next step (Mj ´07) the Boxster S the 3,4ltr engine gets and then over the Cayman S is settled concerning the price and serrates .......
…. already the world with the “normal” price structure is “open” and “Coupé” again correct.

I think also that a Porsche may cost more, as a comparable BMW. The image and the quality nevertheless another and that have stop its value. This value is reflected by the way also in the resale, at the latest then one with the Cayman a better cut made.
In addition the Cayman - all the same with which motorizing - of the transverse dynamics is at least on M3-Niveau. Whom a normal BMW is sporty thus not enough, that is better served with a Cayman, even if he should have “only” 240PS.

Whereby one must say honestly,
Why Cayman instead of Boxster? Same weight, 5 HP more and 4000 euro difference in prices. Concerning driving dynamics there are surely fine differences however in this connection is already very good the open basis. The car does not have times 6-Gang transmission in series or 18 Zöller.
The Porsche price strategy is and remains an insolence.
