Compatability/fit question? |
|
I looked into to get in dash stereo for my car, I thinked about to get one of these: onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio/ProductDetail.aspx?ProductID=17496onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio/ProductDetail.aspx?ProductID=17496">onlinecarstereo.com/caraudio/. for my car, but seems it is taller/hangs past the standard DIN bracket. The thing is, with my car, 90' civic the din mount is recessed about 11/16 of an inch inside of the interior moulding, and from looking at the picture, I have a feeling the face plate may not fit. Am I right in this?

it has a removable faceplate, oter than that, I don't know.
also, is there a particular reason you would not go w/boss, or is it just an issue of to get what you pay for?

Depends. Is the face generally like that rigid or does it swing down to that position? Hard to tell by the photo. You could generally space it out if you did not mind the terrible cosmetics.
To be honest, I'd attempt to avoid anything made by Boss anyway. If you want a low cost product, I'd look at something by Dual or Jensen.
In a somewhat higher range, JVC makes a DVD player with a monitor that fits into the standard DIN.
