Was the Dodge SRT four the fastest production FWD car in the world at the time of its production? Or any time?

The 2003 model was the fastest sport compact for under 20K when it came out.

Who cares. If you're serious about going fast you need either AWD of RWD.

The SRT four is one of the fastest four bangers.I bought my daughter one and she loves it but there are a couple of FWD cars that will get it in the quarter.

I know that the neon held the nhra world record for fastest true production unibody in the world if I remember right it was to get into the 8's in the quarter mile using lots of stock parts. In every article I remember about fwd cars I can not think of one the neon did not beat the competion.
