just all fuel injected vehicles use a return type fuel system. as the fuel pressure builds from the pump in the tank to the injector rail, a regulator with a set value for your specific engine opens and lets extra fuel to be returned to the tank so there's only the fuel available to the engine that it can properly use. your v ten dodge is no exemption. the fuel tank and lines but are sealed to keep all the fumes inside. these extra fumes are emitted on command through the evapoative emissions system, then burned off in the engine. if it malfunctions and leaks outside, the check engine light will illuminate warning you to have it checked out.. good question. simple answer.
