I have an 07 IS250. It performs really well. it is not made to go fast although. If you want fast, go for the IS350. As for crash test ratings, there is not any info on them. But you can not go wrong with a Lexus.

There are now no results for crash test ratings on the 2006 or 2007 IS. I could imagine they could be pretty good. Toyota/Lexus have good standards for safety.
