I am about to but a car Audi A6 1999. Everything is great but the plastic engine cover is missing. No car history for now. So what do you think may it be? am I supposed to be worried?

I would not worry about it. What engine does it have? Engine covers are just for looks. I could check Carfax. Also learn the service history from the Audi dealer it has been serviced at. it'll help to show how well it has been maintained.

The engine cover or lack of it'll not influence the basic operation of the car it is more of a cosmetic thing .
Really, if you want to verify it have a mechanic you trust check it out for you as a condition of sale I did this with my Audi .

You do not have to be worried about the cover missing, but you do have to worry about all the electrical issues that Audi's have.
