it all comes down to personal prefrence really, but keep this in mind. most car businesses have a base or mid range make, i.e. ford, chevy, toyota, honda, etc. then they have a luxury class: lincoln, caddi, lexus, acura. except for some cars, their counterparts are nothing but the same car with leather seats and navigation, which really is not worth the ten 20 extra great for. on the other hand, mercedes and bmw are luxury car makers, that's it. the quality differs inside their present line, while trying to attraction to people with suv x3 x5, m class and the sportier people bmw m3,m5,m6 and the mercedes AMG's . so it really is a question of an upgraded regular joe car or a true luxery car. take your pick.

A Lexus ..you know that high dollar car, with high dollar maintenance, with high insurance, and the worst crash ranking given by the highway institute for safety is nothing more than a Camry or Avalon..its a TOYOTA.its a far cry from a BMW or MB.

Lexus is the best there's while bmw and merc among the worst. Other than that nearly the same.
Never mind current bmw holders they just hate being the only idiot on the block, and to get admiration only from minimum wage hookers.

Nothing on a BMW
LEXUS to me its the Japanese Alternative, I do like the Self parking feature its remarkable the power of the engine is strong too.
I will purchase a Lexus as suppose to a BENZ or BMW if I wanted something different.

I enjoy my Lexus. It really depends on what you need. If you want a good dependable and calm car that's lavish, Lexus can not be beat. If you want a deafening car that has somewhat better handling and is somewhat quicker which is useless to me in stop & go traffic but not as dependable or as lavish, go with the BMW. If you want a somewhat louder car than Lexus, but that doesn't handle also or have as nice of an interior but gives you more "status" go with a MB.

Lexus. is a rich man toyota. I could not purchase a Mercedes wannabe. Is like trying to purchase a Timex at Rolex prices. If I want a car that seems Mercedes Benz, I rather pay for the real one than pretending to be one. Same with Infiniti, is a BMW wannabe too.
Those cars has no personality, have you see one on a Auction? They don't hold value with a mid size well restore US build car.

I drive an IS 350 and I am in love with it. it is comfy and the best part about it's that it holds up really well. typically after you purchase a car, they start loosing their attraction. as an example, they are not as tight and they rattle and do not handle also as when they were new. Not a problem for Lexus. Plus, the price for a Lexus is a steal in the luxury market. Most other luxury automakers charge you for the name brand. as an example, you may be able to get a completely loaded Lexus LS for the $40k cheaper than a completely loaded Mercedes S Class and it has more alternatives than the Mercedes too. Lexus is the only way to go if you are in the luxury market.

Yes, Lexus is the rich man's Toyota, but Mercedes is the rich man's Chrysler. What could you rather have, a Chrysler or a Toyota? At least Toyota does not have to bribe people with a lifetime powertrain warranty to get people to purchase them.
