Let him think what he wants. The 300 4.9L six was a low torque pulling machine with the right gears. It wasn't a speed demon although. As far as out pulling your V10? No way. Now if he was up against a 5.0 V8 I'd have to bet on him if we're talking about pulling and not racing as long as both have the same gear ratios. It could be a toss up if he goed against a 5.8L again we could have to have the same gear percentage.

One truck "pulling another has little to do with torque and more to do with traction and weight. The way to "properly" test "pulling power is to have each truck connect with a trailer same weight line and go down the road. But no way he could take your V10 unless he's done some big mods to his 4.9L.

I think I met that man. He got mad at me because he flat spotted his tires when I kept dragging him after he slammed on his brakes. I took his $100 and drove off in my Chevy Duramax. I could use another $100. Where do you live?

WOW. You have to get him in a poker game too, and any other betting game you may be able to think of. he's got to don’t have conception of what makes things work. I make it a policy to not call people names, but I could think of some for this man.
Thanks for the laugh of the day.
Glad to hear from ya, Good luck.

I had one of those straight six F 150s with a manual. It was a dog.

I will not be a race.

His six cyl will indeed out pull your V ten if his traction is
right and yours is not. it is just that simple. My four Cyl
Escort engine can do the same with correct traction
and gearing so what are these other goons talking about?

He will not be able to out pull you, with the correct gearing. On the other hand, he will both outlast you, and get better fuel economy. I have heard of properly built 300's pushing over 400 HP, so it is possible he's packing more than you know. I'd let him be, if you win, who cares you beat a smaller, older, six cylinder truck.

The fact he's a manual helps him out a lot. as well, if has taken care of the truck will be another big factor. If he knows how to drive, he'll take you off the line. Of course by the time he reaches 30 you may want to be flying past him. F 250 wins this one hands down in any sort of reasonable race, unless it is the gas mileage endurance race. they are fun by the way, get with your friends and who ever runs out of gas loses and the losers purchase the winner gas to get back home and have to fill up there tank too. do not do it in a car you love although, it is bad for the car to strave it for gas.
