I have to get back to school and I have to pay for all the gas. Can somebody help me figure out how much gas will cost to get from Sterling, MA about 40 minutes west of Boston to Steubenville, OH about 40 minutes west of Pittsburgh ? I am driving a 2003 Hyundai Santa Fe if that assists. I don't know if there are tolls along the way either. Thanks for the help..

it is nearly 600 miles. Since your SUV will most likely be full with back to school stuff, it is not likely you are going to get the 23 mpg advertised. Plan on more like 18, since you will be going faster than 55 also. That means you will use about 35 gallons of gasoline throughout your trip. Expect to pay about 95 100 dollars for gasoline on your trip. that means starting with a full tank and showing up at school just about empty.

According to Gasbuddy.com, gas in the Worcester area is about 2.60/gallon today monday, 8/20 . it is about the same all the way across PA. Avoid I 90, it has tolls and NY gas prices are much higher, plus it is WAY out of your way.

Total distance per Map Quest 590.08 miles
Hyundai Santa Fe per website average: 23mpg

So 590.08 miles / 23 miles per gallon = 25.6 gallons needed

25.6 gallons $2.70/gallon estimated = $69.12 estimated cost + extra toll road costs, Tolls exist on 90W, and 84W again per mapquest

What school are your going to that they can not teach students how to do simple math problems?

If you take I 84 to I 380 to I 81 to I 80 to I 99 to US 22 there's no toll. The distance is 590 miles so you have to ask someone for $80 or work some extra hours.
