I live in Seattle.
Would not live in city that didn't have good public transportation system.
Some routes are troublesome.
But in general good system.
Light rail under construction.opens 2009.

Got three month bus pass.
cost me 162 bucks.
That's $1.80 a day.
Bus it around town all day for $1.80.

Good Public Transportation where you live?

you're so lucky to live in a place with good and cheap public transport. I was in Portland a while ago and was really impressed by how easy it's to get around.
I grew up in th U.K in the countryside. although we live only an hour and a half from London, we only got one bus a week that went the wrong way. So it was a four mile cycle ride to the nearest bus stop, for a sevice that stopped early evening. big crimp on social life that led to lots of sneaking around and lying to my parents.
Governments have been running down our public transport for decades and are now penalising us for using cars when they left us with no choice. Grrrrrr
