This is a recognized concern on the new style mustang take it to the dealer there's a TSB for a modified fuel tank for this condition I replaced some tanks for this concern

yes you do have to put it in them kind of slow or it'll kick the pump off on you, a lot of them are like this,its just the car,nothing you may be able to really do about it,just get use to putting it in a little slower,good luck with it.

Nope, has the car been in a wreck previously?

The fill neck can be kinked if so.

Yep, there's a TSB temperary service bulletin out on the early 05's it has to do with the design of the saddle fuel tank. Take it back to the dealer and ask them what the fix is.
