I have a z32 1992 300zx
For the most part it was a pretty decent car.
Ran up till 175K and I deceided to import a Japanese Engine.
As far as repairs while I had it.keep up on the oil changes that's a big part right there.
Stock Nissan alternators seem to go out around the 50k mark.squeaky timing belt.oh boy look for a good 500.upgrade the valve springs also. The turbos are the things to really keep an eye on after 75K+ miles.
Twin Turbo cars are pretty much generally on the costly side of repairs.
Overall the 300zx is a pretty nice car.something you don't see all the time.plus there are tons of aftermarket mods available for the car also to tweek it a bit more on the performance side.

300 zxs are not the most dependable things on the planet not unreliable although, just not a volvo 240, and the nonturbo ones are pretty slow. in general they are way too heavy for being performance cars, and are kinda sluggish because of it.
theres better alternatives out there.

Yes I have and I loved driving it as it's a great car to drive. It has lots of power, but it's a heavy car. But if you give it gas it moves. it is also pretty large and low so it handles really well.
However it's costly to preserve. maintenance stuff. as an example, timing belt, water pump and other basic belts can cost about $800 $900 or more.
I could purchase another one in a heartbeat, but only when I have enough money to put into it.
