How can I remove this seized brake rotor (pic) will give 10p

Its a 96 eclipse and I don't think they have ever been changed. The car shakes bad when stopping, but as you may be able to see from the picture the rotor is totally rusted to the hub. I tried the touch and hammer for about one hour with no luck. Will give 10points for best answer, thanks in advance.

That',s pretty ugly, all right. It also seems a part of the rotor is missing, about the 1:00 position on the picture.

I assume you removed the caliper between the time you took the picture and the time you started fighting with it. You',ve most likely also got penetrant working on the rust at the lugs and at the hub.

My hope is that hole near the upper lug in the picture is threaded. Of course, if it's threaded the rust invaded it too, but if you may be able to get it clear enough you may be able to most likely run a screw in there to push the caliper off. If it isn',t threaded, never mind.

Take that caliper bracket off and remove the complete hub/rotor assembly. I don',t know details of that specific car, but I',m thinking that the rotor and hub may be all one unit.

If not, you still have to take the whole thing off so you may be able to get it to a workbench and have more room to work on it.

Use air affect gun to take off the caliper bolts and the axle screw. Then use a big screwdriver to pry the caliper from the rotor plate. Use a drill and chisel to take off the rotor screws, if an affect driver failed.

The screws holding the rotor to the hub were used throughout assembly at the plant and aren't needed.Drill the heads off of them. Then the rotor may be struck with a hammer from behind.
