How can you get a smoker's car smelling fresh?

Postby Marcello » Tue Nov 03, 2009 1:43 am

First of all I don',t smoke and I never will.. Disgusting habit... Now I noticed here In S.A lots of dudes here who own Subarus puff like there',s no tomorrow, and I'd like to purchase a used one when I',m older. So I'd like to ask how you may be able to completely get rid of the smell of cigerettes? Someone told me I should use correct perfume and not Eau De Toilete. Also how can you clean fabric seats efficiently?

we have the problem at work car dealership what you need is this machine called an ionizer sp? you may want to be able to rent one someplace or go to a dealership and see if they can do it for you. what you',ll do is turn it on for atleast an hour but no more than 4. keep the car sealed windows up, doors shut etc.. after the time is up air out the car for a day or so. its gonna smell a little odd kinda alike to bleach but that will sooner or later go away, throw in a couple air freshners and you may want to be good. BUT if the smell still hasnt gone away it may be because the last owner smoked with the windows up and the weather control on recirculate instead of bringing in new air. if that is the case your pretty much screwed unless you want to replace your while weather controlexpensive. as far as cleaning seats if you may be able to find a shampooer with a hose attatchment use that and let the car dry out, this will also help with the smell. good luck. damn smokers ruin some pretty good cars

first you have to air out the car. put in a air fresher and if you got a garage open all the windows for a week and spry Lysol in the seats and carpet or febreeze for better smell. also run the air conditioning with windows up to suck in the Lysol into the interior car systems to clear out the smoke smell from there. that way when you open the ac you won',t smell the smoke and ash. replace filters in car interior cabin and engine filthers.
