How comfy is the IS250 on imperfect surfaces? |
|
I may have to relocate for a job, and the roads where I'm relocating to are not that great. I have a G35 coupe now, but it will get eatten up by the bad roads.
The IS was a car I looked at before the G. How soft is the suspension, and is the ride smooth?
If you are an IS owner, what are the pros and cons of your purchase? I could ask about the 350, but I know that ride is a bit more inflexible.

I recently bought an '07 IS250, but, I have 18" wheels with sports suspension. This helps with handling and responsiveness but I do tend to take it simple on the rough spots. If you're really worried about bad roads, I'd propose smaller wheels and the standard suspension, this will sacrifice handling but increase comfort. Either way, a test drive is a must as only you may be able to tell what suits your preference.

I have an IS 250 and it is great. The suspension is great and freeway driving in LA/OC is pretty rough in some spots. I drive an average of 55 miles/day usually freeway and the ride is very smooth.
Pros: great features I have the nav system, cooled/heated seats, great handling, quiet
Cons: tiny back seats
For the most part, I have had my car for a little over a year I have the 2006 model and I have been nothing but happy with my buy. I have not had any problems so far I have about 20700+ miles on my car now and if you keep up with the regular oil checks/maintenance, you should not have any problems either. Best thing to do is to test drive one and see if you like it. I can not say enough about the service that I get at Lexus dealerships. generally great and useful.

It'll do pretty good. Any car will get worn down over a while, although.

The ride on the Lexus IS 250 is amazingly smooth and nice considering the size and sportiness of the car. certainly worth a test drive.
