How did lexus get thier name?

I KNOW,
They got their name when their company branched. Their other branch is Lotus.
Lotus then started exporting to USA under a name called Lexus. Then the UK got Lexus. But because Lotus is an english company Lexus got their name from this.

I think it is an Toyota's adaptation of the word 'luxus' which means luxury or quality in some european languages.

Well, as you know, Lexus started off by taking on the Germans so, required to act German to get respect from the public. They took the word 'luxus', which in German means luxury, and changed the 1st 'u' to an 'e' to make it different.

no meaning but it's depending on Japenes principle that and X in the center is powerful. depending on how the Luxor hotel got its name. They did a big study on the japenese people to persuade them. So Lexus wanted an X in the center and two letters on each side for balance.
