you need engineering, math, physics, etc expertise, also autocad, and some drawing expertise. the you use the science of persuation to convince the boss for money to go design the car.

Physics is key. From designing the chassis of the car, to designing the engine that will be mated to the chassis of this car, everything requires cautious calculations through the law of physics. As you may be able to most likely imagine, everything on a car must be intended to move in order for the car itself to move.

They use science in every single part. They use aerodynamics to maximize the airflow and hence make the car go faster while using less gas. They use physics, math, chemistry, anatomy. here is how they use every one. They use physics because they have to understand how the forces work on the engine. They also use physics to understand the impacts and hence be able to make cars safer. Everything that has to do with a car's design, and safety comes from physics and understanding the forces that a car has on the road, on one's self and on other cars. They use math to understand proportions. You do not want a car in which a six ft. person will not fit. So math is important. They also use math in the design because they may find that the car may have a better aero flow if they shave a thousanth of an inch from the rear decklid. They also use math in the ratings like HP and Torque. math is in the speedometers because they have to calibrate them perfectly. They use math to find out the weight of the car, how heavy it may be, a bunch of stuff. too much to name., they use chemistry because they have to understand the resistance of some materials, they blend differente elements to make composite materials that are lighter and more tolerant like Magnesium rims and Carbon Fiber elements. Cars are constructed today by science in an effort to maximize theire performance and efficiency in everything from lasting plastics to tire compounds to brake dimensions. everything. And, which I forgot to name is Anatomy. They use anatomy to make the car seats, make the comfy to drive and ride in. Cars could be totally different today if we did not have science. Of course they use lots more science branches, but I believe that the five I just mentioned are the most important ones of all.

Science, "an area of knowledge that's an object of study". Anything in the world today is depending on science. All the parts that make a car, is because of science. And the designer who builds a car is to some extent is a scientist. His object of study is the car and his area of knowledge is how to make a car. A designer has to study and learn the use of all materials that are made, and be used in the making of a car. You learn knowledge when you study. And the designer learns about cars because they study to get knowledge. A designer could bound themselves to one item and study that item till they learn all they can about that item, then go beyond their knowledge and find and discover new uses, materials, and anything else that they may think of for the use of that item. you're using science when you asked this question. Why? Because your question is the object of study and your trying to get knowledge . Keep on thinking, it is good for you and your mind. Mark
