its located towards the back of the firewall,but you may be better off having this one done that system has to have some amount of pressure to make it work right, without the gages you can not tell what its running,id have it done,you can mess the system up to the point that it wont work right,then its going to cost you,id have the one done,good luck on it.

Your monte carlo comes with r 134 refrigerant. Most of the time the fill ports are either in line on the low pressure side blue fitting cap or on the evaporator/dryer canister. Before you attempt to fill or do anything to your a.c. you may want to have guages that can read the hot and cold pressure that your system produces. You also have to be able to read how much freon is in the system. You have to check for leaks, belt tension, and part condition before you service your a.c. I could seriously think about taking it to a reputable shop or dealership if you have never done this before. you may be able to because damage or injury by not knowing important particulars about a.c. Good luck.
