Theres no have to go to the dealer. I learned how to replace the battery by reading the holders manual. All you need is a screwdriver. On the back of the key, there's this little notch about 2/3 of the way down. put a flat screwdriver horizontally in the notch, and turn it. The whole key should split separately. Take the lower half, and remove the back side of it. There, you may want to see the two batteries. Remember their configuration when you put in the new ones. When you put in the new batteries, snap on the back side again and push the two halves together. you may be able to get new batteries at any pepboys, autozone, etc for a coupla bucks. Trust me, you will save some cash if you DIY.

There most likely is not one to replace. The electronic gadgets in car keys are usually powered by an electromagnetic field from the sensor, like the ID chips that you may get for your pet dog or cat. See your Audi dealer.

There are many Audi types, which one are you referring to? The key could just be flipped over with a thin flat edge. The battery coulkd then be levered out and a new one fitted. don't forget the positive side faces upwards. I hope this helps.
