How do I reset the ecu on a landrover freelander?

You can not you need special soft ware that is only available to dealers.It requires a special pass word that id the dealer that is resetting it

You pay the tech so that you do not void your warranty. The OBDII machine they use if performing service carries an electronics signature, and being that you are dealing with a Databus system.. it is beside impossible to do it without the machine

you can not a land rover dealer has the correct software to reset it to you model and year hope this assist you do not try it yourself you may be able to do more damage than ever

get a tech to do that they have the soft wear to do that

you can not you have to find someone that has an auto logic system that diagnoses faults etc. can reset ECU. no way round it.

Before you do any of the other things suggested attempt this. It frequently works. Disconnect the battery for five minutes, then reconnect. If the ECU locked this will frequently reset it. Its worth a attempt but make sure to have your radio code and keys out of the car.
