Your factory system is set when you lock your doors with the keyless remote. it'll go off if someone knocks out your window and tries to unlock your doors from inside. Here is how to test it, have someone sit inside your car. you'll shut the doors and lock it from the outside, then the person inside the car can hit the interior unlock button, then the alarm should go off.
