How do I tighten a loose side mirror on a 2001 Dodge ram? |
|
The mirror itself is loose. The housing is good. Is there something inside the mirror that I can adjust?

Try to pry the mirror out of the housing and put new glue on the back and reinsert it. The best place to get this kind of glue is at a auto body shop.

if you remove the door panel and go like your going to take off the mirror, once its off there is tension screws in it that will tighten back up,once you get it tight then re install it,its not a bad procedure to do,but be cautious it do not scratch the paint any, good luck with it.

think there's a recall on this for the ram. a man I work with told me about this on his ram. so may want to call your dealership and learn before you really screw something up.

There is certainly a recall for the mirrors, but I believe it was for the complete housing being loose on the post. If you have not had the dealer fix your mirrors still they can come off., call to ask if this falls under the recall notice. If you may be able to have the professionally fixed free of charge by the dealership.
