Depends really on which school of thought you're from. If you are Italian or American, you design the car 1st, then see how everything else fits in. On the other hand, if you are German or Japanese, you design the chassis, suspension etc., then see what body shell could go on it.

So it is either form following function, or function following form.

It requires computer aided design like Pro E, Cetia and so on. The body should be light as possible and aerodynamic.

i do not know and I think the ones that are doing it for car makers do not know either all cars and trucks are really ugly not many that looks great anymore
