SORRY BUT WE AT THE DEALER PROGRAM REMOTES free of charge, NOT AN ARM AND A LEG. THE PROCEDURE IS AS FOLLOWS: be sure ALL DOORS ARE UNLOCKED. PLACE KEY IN IGNITION, TURN ON AND OFF THREE TIMES ENDING WITH KEY IN OFF POSITION. THEN PRESS DOOR AJAR SWITCH ON BODY IN AND OUT THREE TIMES. AFTER THIS THE DOORS WILL LOCK AND UNLOCK, WHEN THIS HAPPENS PRESS THE LOCK AND UNLOCK BUTTONS ON REMOTE, NOT simultaneously, ONE RIGHT AFTER THE OTHER. IF DONE properly THE LOCKS WILL LOCK AND UNLOCK AGAIN. IF THIS HAPPENS TURN THE KEY IN THE IGNITION AND THE LOCKS WILL CYCLE AGAIN AND THE REMOTE IS PROGRAMMED. IF NONE WORKS THE REMOTE can be BAD. could HAVE TO purchase A NEW ONE.

If you take it to a dealer, they'll charge you an arm and a leg, so attempt checking that the chip is seated properly 1st, and also the battery could the battery be the wrong way round, or maybe the wrong type or maybe dead?

A friend of mine had a keyloss fob for his car, and he dropped it and wondered why he could not get in his car after, spent hours ringing dealers for an answer, till one let the cat out of the bag most tryed to sell him a new one for over a hundred pounds maybe the chip missed. He went back to where he dropped it, luckily found the chip, put it back in, and it is worked good since. The dealer who told him admitted that he wasn't supposed to tell people that, but to sell them a new one.

One person has it close, but didn't explain it right. Get in the car with the car off. Turn the key on and off three times fast. Then open the drivers door and close it three times. Then hit the lock and unlock button. Then it should work.

MESSAGE FOR DENNIS R.. although most mazda dealers, mine included, program remotes free of charge, the way it's done should be kept confidental. Telling this information could lead to more of our cars being stolen, driving up insurance rates for our customers. think before answering anymore questions in such an open forum..
