It differs on different cars, on occasion there's 1/2 a gallon left, on occasion a gallon and it depends on how many miles per gallon you are to get.
You can most likely look in your holders manual or speak to your car tech about it.
Remember although, when you run the gas that low, you're really putting more strain on your car, and more fumes out there. so attempt to add more gas once you get to 1/4 tank

Each car is individual as to how much fuel is still really in the tank. but, it's never a smart idea to let the tank get that low. Sediment that settles at the bottom of the tank can get into the fuel line when the last of the fuel can be used. it's typically suggested to not let the tank get below an 1/8th of a tank to avoid pulling this sediment into the fuel line.

You should have about one gallon or four liters of fuel left when the low fuel light come on. Of course your range will differ with driving conditions.
You should test this your self by running it down untill the light comes on and note the amount of fuel it take to fill the tank. deduct it from the total fuel capacity to estimate the remain fuel supply.

every car is different my car has a five gallon reservoir I get 15 mph city so I can go 75 miles just take your car drive all the way to the light fill it up learn what your tank size is and deduct the fill up from the size then find you mpg and multiply that.
btw its not good for your engin to go below 1/4 of the tank, crap from the tank can get in you engin
