How long could a 2001 hyundai elantra with 50,000 miles on it last?
it was maintained but do elantra engines die at only 100,000 miles on it although it also maintained. also do they because lots powertrain problems shortly after they hit 75,000 miles.
please only elantra holders answer esspecially if you have one with more than 100,000 miles on it.

2001 was a turnaround year for Hynudai. that's when they started building better quality cars and offering the 60K bumper to bumper and 100K powertrain warranty.
The only downside is that this was the 1st year for the "change" and it was the 1st year of that body style, so issues may be hit or miss.
That being said, if it was maintained and the current owner hasn't had any problems, I think you could be good.
If the car is reasonably priced and the previous owner has all of the service records, I would not worry about "what could go wrong". you'll worry about that with any car.

Had a 2000 elantra that I traded in on a Sonata that had 80,000 miles on it. I had the oil changed every 3000 4000 miles, replaced two tires and one timing belt at 60,000 miles plus changed the plugs once and the air filter once. I had no other problems and the car runned good when I traded it in. I could say that they last.

It depends on how much you take care of the car.
