How long will a supra engine last? |
|
theres a supra for a great price but it is pretty fixed up and I am guessing that it is been raced a pretty bit since all the mods, it has 121,478 miles on it how much longer will the eninge last?

200k hopefully. stock turbos and all stock engine parts then I will have to say you will have to replace those pretty soon. also as other parts.

No telling. It depends on how the last owner drove it. If it is been abused like most fast cars are or not. Why do not you have a compression check done ? That way you will know if the engine still has power. It should not cost much at all.

I have seen them last upwards of 200k based on the maintenance. A compression and leakdown test is a must. The block is build like a brick sh.thouse, but the downfall if running high hp for a long time will wear down the rings and valve stem seals. be sure the car doesnt smoke on startup.
Does it have stock twins or single? Mine has a single and about 105,000 miles. I owned the car since 99 and 40k miles and not a lick of trouble with the engine.
