I could go with both answers before me but in reality it really depends on the condition of the motor if its maintnanceed then you may be able to expect 18 21 but if you need work done it may prodoce less MPG I could go to a Toyota dealer and ask them if they can look at it and let you know if it needs any work done.. they'll tell you before starting work on it. I went and they gave me a in depth map of my Camry I looked around and decided to go back to them for my timing belt I don't feel to secure about letting a regular mechanic change it for me, I feel better if Certified toyota techs do it. Besides they give you a warranty on their work . and what they told me was wrong was right after that my camry is in top notch cond. It runs smoother and the acceleration is great.

If you have the 3.4 V6 you could expect around 18 20. If your 4Runner is two wheel drive then you could expect a bit more. I have the V6 4x4 and I get a average of 19 to 20 mpg
